I Am Still Old Fashioned 16Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. A> We are living in a changing world. We see things change in almost every sphere and area of this world. Peoiple change, places change. The way oif doing things change B> Some things needed to be changed. 1. Methods of doing things. Nothing wrong with modern machinery and inventions. 2.We certainly would niot want to go backto the time when a person got sick there wer no doctors or medical treatment that could help him. 3. We would not want to go back to the old method of travel. C> So when i say, I'm old fashioned I don't mean that I'm against progress. . But I am saying I still believe there are some things that have changed for the worse and not for the better. I> I STILL BELIEVE IN THE OLD FASHIONED BIBLE A>
I am told that there are over 600 different Bibles and versions on the
market today.
B> The purpose for so many is someone claims we cannot understand the Old King James Version, and those nearest to it.. What
is it that you can't understand?
Exodus.
25 3-17 3Thou shalt have no other gods before me.1. take the ten commandments for instance; which one is it that you can't understand? They seem pretty plain to me. 4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. 7Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. 8Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. 12Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. 13Thou shalt not kill. 14Thou shalt not commit adultery. 15Thou shalt not steal. 16Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. 17Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's. 2.
When Jesus said, "ye must be born again" (John 3:3-7)what's
so hard to understand about that?
READ
1Corinthains 2:14, John 12:40, 2Corinthians 4:3-43. When the Bible says Jesus was born of a virgin" ( Isaiah 7:14) what's thye problem ? 4.When it says Jesus arose from the grave (1 Corinthians 15:3,4) what is so complicated that you can't understand that? II> I STILL BELIEVE IN OLD FASHIONED REPENTANCE A>
John the Baptist preache it. Jesus proclaimed it. The
Apostles preached it.
B> What is repentance? It means "turning" or "changing directions." C> We desperately need some old fashioned repentance today starting in God's people 2 Chroniucles 7:14 14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their landXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Reaching every facet and area of the land- begining with the church, the home, the schools, the government,... III> I STILL BELIEVE IN THE OLD FASHIONED HOME. A>
call me an old foggy if you wish but I believe
1. God's plan for marriage is between a man and a woman. 2. Two people should be married before having sex! 3. A woman should be married before having babies. babies used to be called basturd children that were born out of wedlock, and that was considered a shame. That is a Biblical term by the way. B> I still believe the father's place is to teach and train his children about life , work, integrity, and spiritual things. C> I still believe the mother should be a home maker, and teach the daughters the things that girls need to know.. IV> I STILL BELIEVE IN THE OLD FASHIONED CHURCH A>
An Old fshioned Church is a praying church, A preaching church
Oliver B. Green said "I had rather walk five miles and be fed, than to walk one block and be fooled". C> An old fashioned church is a practicing church. V> I STILL BELIEVE IN THE OLD FASHIONED HOPE Modern man has tried to understand death, the hearafter. without the aid of the Holy Bible. and that is why we have the mess . But I am still old fashioned enough to believe what God says about our hope. Dear Friend thank you for listeneing to tadays message. Ask God to help you with the Bible as you read and study it. Ask God to save you, for that is where it begins.
