A Christians Confession Of Faith
1
Timothy 1:12-17
12And I
thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted
me faithful, putting me into the ministry;
13Who
was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I
obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
14And
the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which
is in Christ Jesus.
15This is a faithful
saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the
world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
16Howbeit
for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might
shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should
hereafter
believe on him to life everlasting.
17Now
unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be
honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Christians
confession of faith
A. A confession iis astatement of what one believes. All religous
groups have their confessions of faith,in what we call the
"church handbook" or "manuel " (that would be found in the
constitution of that group also).
B. This sermon is about an individuals confessioin of faith.
C, He gives his satatement of faith. Do we have a staement to leave for
our friends and loved ones.?

I AM A Sinner. tx. vs. 15.
15This
is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus
came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
A.He had ALWAYS BEEN A SINNER BUT DID NOT KNOW IT. Why?
(Philipians
3:4-6 4Though I might also have confidence in the flesh.
If any
other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I
more:
5Circumcised
the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an
Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
6Concerning
zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in
the law, blameless.
.B.Notice
carefully the words of our text., he speaks in present tense, "I
am a sinner"
WE must see ourselves in this light! (IJohn
1:8-8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth
is not in us.
II>
I am what I am by the grace of god.
A. he took no credit for his conversion. it was the pure act of the
Soverieign grace of God.
"Amzing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me"
III>
I Am Debtor. Romans
1:14-"I am
debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and
to the unwise."
A. A debtor is onwe who owes somethingto somebody else.
What did he owe? he owed the gospel to a lost world.
- Here is
a person who has a terminal illness....a doctor has discoverd a
treatment. remedy applied...
- Now
that person knows someone in the same situation...
- does he
owe it to tell that person about the doctor and the medicine that cured
him?
B. Those of us who have been saved owe it to others to tell them about
Jesus...
IV>
"I am not ashamed of the Gospel".. Romans 1:16-
16For I
am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto
salvation to every
one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
The
gospel is the death burial and resurection of Jesus
Christ. 1Corinthians 15:1,3b-4
- 1Moreover,
brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you,
which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
- 3For I
delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that
Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
- 4And
that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to
the scriptures:
B. False religions have their "gods" (founder) not one of them has come
back from the dead...
only the christian can say "Our Lord AROSE". The false
religions are conditional...that is what makes Christianity diferent.
IV.
"I Am Ready" 2
Timothy 4:6
- 6For I
am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
- 7I have
fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
He was ready ....to preach,...suffer...die..
are
you ready?
dear
friend : please trust Jesus as your saviour taday.
The Bible says in Romans 10:9,109That if thou shalt confess with thy
mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the
dead, thou shalt be saved.
10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation.
13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
