Contentment

1 Tinmothy 6:5-10 5.Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the
truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
6But godliness with contentment is great gain.
7For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we
can carry nothing out.
8And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
9But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare,
and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in
destruction and perdition.
10For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while
some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced
themselves through with many sorrows.

A.What is Contentment?

  • 1. The Bible gives a good definition right here in verse 8.
"food and raiment" means the necessary things.
  • 2. God's word does not condemn people for wanting
to beter themselves. But it is inordinate lust for more
    that is displeasing to God.
  • 3.Their is a spiritual aspect to money. If it is used for God's work and to help those in need.No hidden notes..
B.The Love of money will destroy a Christians usefullness for God.
D. Money will not make one happy. D.Today's thought: How to be Content.
