What Would Happen Should Jesus Come This year,
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18,and ch.5-11: date of message= 1/12/2014

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Chapter 5

1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

A. Somebody is already predicting that this year would be the year of His return. There is no proof of this prophecy.
B. No person knows the time of His coming. Matthew 24:36

36But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

37But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

40Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

41Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

42Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

C. We understand the secound coming of Jesus will be in 2 parts..The first part will be for His people, (the church, Bride of Christ)
the secound part He will bring us back with Him to rule the world for a thousand years from Jerusalem.
D. This message today will deal with the first part of His secound coming.

I> Many will not be looking for Him.

If Christians were looking for Him what a differencethey would be making in the world today.
Where are the church members?

10% cannot be found
20% never pray
30% never open there Bibles
40% never give to there church
50% do not attend church on Sunday night
60% never give to missions
90% do not have family devotions
--- taken from a nation wide religous census

II>. Many who thought they were saved will be shocked to learn TOO LATE that they were never saved at all

Matthew 7:21-23 20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord,

shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils?

and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity

A. What a sad awakening that will be when a person wakes up some morning to find his family missing

B.Perhaps some will be preachers who will come to churchon Sunday ready to preachand find his congregation has all gone,

OR vise versa it might be the preacher gone, and the congregation will wonder where he is.

("They cried for the rocks and the mountains, they prayed but their prayers were to late.")
III> ALL THE SAINTS of all the ages who have died will be resurected and translated over into their new bodies!

Corinthians 15:51-53 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God;

neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

51Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

52In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible,

and we shall be changed. 53For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality

IV> ALL, THEN, Who have been resurected and those alive will be raptured or Caught Up. see text above

VI> After this we must all face the Judgment Seat of Christ. 2Corinthians5:10

10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body,

according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

A. There we will give an account for our lives, and there rewards will be given for service rendered.

This will not be a place to find out if you made it into Heaven. That is settled in this life only. Heaven is no accident.
